From a boarding facility, to a city pound attached to the fire department, to a humane society serving all of Kenosha County, Safe Harbor Humane Society has grown with our community, acting as an open admission shelter devoted to saving the lives of as many pets as possible. Incorporated in 1916 as a boarding facility, Safe Harbor has taken on many forms. Our mission is to house, care for, and find loving homes for animals orphaned, abused and neglected in Kenosha County. Safe Harbor takes in nearly 3800 animals each year and places the majority of these animals into good homes.
